Futurity Rules and Entry

1. Each entry will be two (2) birds between the ages of 6 to 8 weeks old.

 

2. First 40 entries will be accepted. One entry per person or loft.  Due to popular demand we have excepted 10 additional entries for a total of 50 entries. The fly is closed and no other entries will be accepted!

Entry fee will be $200. A $50 dollar perch fee is needed to enter. The remainder to be paid before birds are  shipped. Contestant is responsible for getting their birds to the loft.

Club entries will be accepted.

 

3. The funding for this contest will be approximately $7,500 dollars based on 50 entries.  The first place pigeon will be guaranteed $2,100 dollars, and second place receiving $1,100 dollars. We look to pay the top twenty birds. This is based on receiving a full 50 entries.  The top ten will receive a plaque. We look to have the champion of this fly on the cover of the NBRC bulletin.

 

Money based on 50 entries at $200 per entry = $10,000

 

Expenses, Feed, Meds, Misc. Supplies    = $1000

 

Loft managers fee = $1500

 

Prize fund payouts. Based on 50 entries. 

 

1st place - ($2,100) 2nd place - ($1,100)  3rd place - ($550)

4th place - ($450)    5th place - ($400)      6th place - ($350)

7th place - ($300)    8th place - ($275)      9th place - ($250)

10th place - ($225)

 

11th thru 15th ($200)

 

16th thru 20 ($100)

 

 

The auction money will be split 50/50 with half going to the owner of the bird that sold and half going to the National Futurity Classic Fly.  

 

4. Birds will start being received on May. 1st  2014 through the 16th. Training Starts at that time.

 

5. All birds will be inoculated for  PMV, Paratyphoid & salmonella upon arrival.

 

6. All birds will be flown at a common loft, consisting of three kits. No Entry will start  with both birds in the same kit.  The best rollers as they show them selves will move into a 25 bird box considered to be the contenders at that time.. The birds in this 25 bird box will change as birds move up from the other kits, and birds drop out.

 

7. All birds must be banded, but only banded on one leg so special snap bands can be put on the other. All young must be banded 2014.

 

8. Any bird lost or injured before June 30th, 2014, may be replaced by the owner at his/her expense. After June  30th 2014 NO BIRD OR BIRDS SHALL BE REPLACED!

 

9. Birds will be flown 6 days a week with Fridays off, weather permitting. Once the roll begins to hit solid, birds will be Moved into the kit that fits their perfomance best and flown as Kit Managers feel best for a working roller.

 

10. Judging starts with the loft managers, with monthly updates.In the last two months the kit is judged By the loft Managers every time flown.  We will have a panel consisting of good roller men judge 6 times. Once at 9 months, 10 months, 11 months and three times the last month including the final judging 10 days before the final event. 

     The last time the kit is in judgment by the panel will be ten days before the conclusion of this event.   All decisions will be final at this time. May 6, 2015. Judging will be final on this date in order to secure plaques, Tee shirts ext. for the main event on May 16, 2015

 

11. In the event of a major overfly or circumstances beyond the loft manager’s control, all money except for expenses will be divided evenly and returned to the entrants.

 

12. Judging will be based on quality spinning, kitting, frequency, and depth. This contest is to pick the best individual pigeon, however it must kit.

 

13. All birds shipped to the contest will be auctioned and sold to the highest bidder. We will have online bidding available as well. 

 

14. Anyone at anytime removing his or her birds from this event will forfeit their entry fee and all prize money. No one is to handle the birds except the loft manager.

 

15. The auction will be held Saturday May 16th 2015 at the home of the loft manager. You will be able to bid on the classic pigeons online if you are unable to attend the event.

 

16. All prize money and awards will be awarded at that time. If unable to attend, prize money and awards will be mailed.

 

17. After awarding the prize money the auction will start. Birds will be sold to the highest bidder. Auction money will be divided 50% to the breeder and 50% percent to the National Futurity Classic Fly. (Example) If a bird sells for $300 and you are the high bidder, and the bird is yours, you pay only $150. Buyers pay shipping.

 

18. This fly tentatively will have some shipping boxes available at no cost. Check with the loft manager for availability. If no box is available, it is the buyers responsibility to provide one for shipping. arrangements must be made to remove or ship within 14 days of the close of the event or they will become the property of the NFCF.

 

19. The classic event will furnish a free lunch at the home of Kenny and Brenda Billings.

 

20. The kits will be available for viewing by appointment ONLY.

 

21. The rollers will be housed by loft managers Ken and Brenda Billings, at 85 Hill Rd. Melba Idaho. 83461. Contact Ken Billings at 208 -965-3030. or at extravelocity95@aol.com

 

22. Loft managers will not be eligible to compete. Loft managers will set up a website, and upload information on a regular basis. Information will also be posted in various other websites, and bi - monthly in the NBRC bulletin.

 

23. A complimentary T-Shirt will be given to each entry. In the past these became very popular, and a collectors item. Names of all entries will be on the back of the shirt, including our logo. For everyone that would like a T-shirt they will be for sale.

 

24. The winner of the National Futurity Classic Fly will receive a Champion Jacket.

B. Send your 50 dollar perch fee to reserve your spot in the competition. Acceptance of perch fee’s starting now.  Remember only 40 entries will be accepted. The remaining $150 is to be sent before  the birds are shipped. Do not send entry fee to loft manager.  Anyone not paying for their full entry or Not sending their birds by May 16th 2014 will forfiet thier perch fee and spot in the NFCF fly.

Be sure to practice safe shipping procedure. Do not ship the birds out after a Wednesday. Birds should be shipped on a Monday or Tuesday. Birds must be shipped Express Mail in a approved live bird box through the US Postal Service, (USPS). Only approved box brands such as “Horizon” or “Boxesforbirds” will be accepted by the United States Postal Service. If you have any questions on the shipping process call Ken Billings at 208 -965 -3030
